Here are the main steps to take to ensure your roof has weathered the rainy season and prepare it for another year:
- Clean it up. If you are sure-footed you can climb up yourself or you can hire a professional to do a good cleaning to remove any branches, palm fronds, insect nests or trash.
- Check and replace any broken or damaged “tejas”, the terra-cotta tiles typically used on Mexican rooftops.
- Inspect the connections and cables for any air-conditioning units or pumps, as well as the seals around vents and skylights.
