Thursday, September 13th
9am, Plaza Pitillal: a civic ceremony to honor the memory of Los Niños Héroes, the young boys who defended Chapultepec Castle from invading United States forces during the Battle of Chapultepec in the Mexican-American War.
7pm, Juarez Parking Plaza: a traditional Baile de Rebozo (dinner/dance) where colorful, traditional shawls are worn by both men and women.
Friday, September 14th
11am, Downtown Puerto Vallarta: to celebrate National Charros Day, more than 100 riders from the Unión de Asociaciones de Charros de Puerto Vallarta will parade through the city streets, beginning at Lázaro Cárdenas Park in Colonia Emiliano Zapata, to Calle Morelos and then the Puerto Vallarta Malecón.
Saturday, September 15th
8am, Plaza de Armas: flag raising ceremony and performance of the national anthem.
9am, Volleyball Court Ixtapa/ Augstin Flores Contreras Municipal Sports Stadium: two big 2018 tournaments get underway with competitive volleyball and basketball teams from Jalisco, Nayarit and Sinaloa.
8pm, Plaza de Armas: at full night of entertainment including Monumental Mariachi at 8pm, Xitula Folklore Ballet at 9pm and the Municipal Band at 10pm. At 11pm, Interim Mayor, Rodolfo Dominguez Monroy, will led the symbolic Grito de Dolores (the cry of independence), followed by fireworks and musical performances by Nuevo Continental Mariachi at 11:30 pm and Ritmos Dinámicos at 12:30 am.
