Plaza Peninsula, located in the Hotel Zone, has been purchased by the powerhouse commercial developer, GICSA, as part of their recent La Isla shopping center interest in our city. The plaza has been rebranded as Peninsula Gastronomic, a nightlight and culinary destination anchored by Porfirio’s, which opened late December 2017.
With a successful concept founded in Mexico City, Porfirio’s brings an elevated take on traditional Mexican cuisine in a room with a decidedly cosmopolitan feel. High design lighting and sculpture, a hip bar area and indoor/outdoor seating bring a big city feel to our resort destination. A resident DJ sets the atmosphere accompanied by hourly shows by the house mariachi band, set to an interactive video display for a techno take on old world culture.
The menu is reimagined traditional Mexican with a twist of exotic ingredients and creative plating. The wine and cocktail list comes by way of iPad, with full descriptions of each option available, for a fully modern dining experience. Reservations are available through the OpenTable app or by calling 322 221 3593. Service begins at 1:00 pm for lunch and ends after dinner service at 1:00 am.
