The night sky above Banderas Bay will be alight with a sparkle and glitter as Puerto Vallarta rings in 2018 with the II Festival de Pirotecnia Luminia Fest, a world-class firework display to be held on December 30th and 31st.
The festival represents a 3-million-peso investment by the City of Puerto Vallarta to create a memorable start to the new year for both tourists and residents, with an event that will feature two musical fireworks displays. The show on the 30th of December will be produced by Puerto Vallarta’s own pyrotechnic expert, Marcelo Mantecón, from the iconic Malecón. The second show on December 31st will be produced by Mexican pyrotechnic specialist Pablo Hernández and will feature a digitally designed display from IPEJAL, the field in front of the Municipal Sports Stadium. Prior to each Puerto Vallarta fireworks display, there will be free musical performances by various jazz, rock and Mariachi groups, including a Plastiko concert on the 31st.
