When thinking about preparing your Puerto Vallarta home for the winter season, you are free from worries about snow and freezing pipes, but our sunny and warm climate still comes with some important seasonal preparations. We have a quick checklist to keep your casa in great shape during the beautiful winter months in Mexico.
Start with the roof and drains. You'll want
to make sure there is no debris from the rains of the summer season and that
drains are emptying freely. It's also a good idea to have your roof inspected for
loose tiles and check if it is time to have your roof sealed to prevent water
damage.
Even though you'll use them less than during the hotter summer months, your air
conditioning units still deserve some attention. This is a good time to replace
filters and clean your units to prevent mold and odors. The winter months are also
perfect for throwing open the windows and letting the fresh air inside, and you
can improve airflow by using your ceiling fans.
For your outdoor living areas, it's a good idea to get scheduled maintenance done on your pool or hot tub pump. And you'll want to inspect your outdoor furniture for any damage, and wash and thoroughly dry cushions and outdoor linens.
And finally, while guests will love coming to your Puerto Vallarta home to enjoy your company and our beautiful winter weather, you want to avoid any unwanted visitors. Check for gaps and openings that let insects and rodents enter and schedule a preventative pest service if you haven't recently.
