Title Insurance
Although the notary public in Mexico acts as the title officer in real estate closings, two major title insurance providers, Stewart Title Guaranty and Fidelity provide title insurance through their Mexican affiliates and the coverage is generally the same. Tropicasa can provide information on title insurance products offered by all three companies as well as information on their third party escrow services as well.
Some companies will also offer simple escrow services to act as a third-party for holding earnest money deposit funds in a real estate transaction in Mexico. The cost for these services is typically around $750 USD.
